Rather than arriving for a few hours and leaving again, we encourage couples to make their wedding a whole weekend.
Friday — Arrive & gather
Welcome your guests to Hjelmsjöborg and settle into your rooms.
Enjoy a relaxed welcome dinner, drinks by the fire or an informal evening together in one of the historic buildings.
Saturday — The wedding
Begin the day slowly with breakfast together.
Get ready in the castle while your guests explore the estate.
Then gather for your ceremony – perhaps by the lake, in the park or inside one of our historic rooms.
After the ceremony, enjoy champagne, photographs and time together before dinner.
As evening falls, candles are lit, dinner is served and the celebration continues late into the night.
Sunday — Breakfast & goodbye
Wake up at the castle and enjoy a relaxed breakfast together.
Take one last walk through the park, gather around the fire and say goodbye without having to rush to catch a train or plane.

Throughout the weekend, you can use different parts of the estate for different moments.
The Castle – Borgen
Our historic summer castle, with elegant rooms, dining spaces, a winter garden and intimate corners for smaller gatherings.
The Agronomet
Our beautiful converted stable building, ideal for larger dinners, dancing and late-night celebrations.
The Park & Lake
A private natural setting for ceremonies, photographs, walks and outdoor moments.
The Palm House
A unique octagonal tower suite hidden among the rhododendrons – a memorable place for the couple to stay.
Each setting has its own character. Together, they make the wedding feel like an entire weekend at a private estate rather than a single venue.
A wedding destination in Sweden
Hjelmsjöborg is located in northwestern Skåne, in southern Sweden.
For international guests, the estate is surprisingly easy to reach.
Copenhagen Airport – approximately 90 minutes
Malmö – approximately 60 minutes
Helsingborg – approximately 40 minutes
This makes Hjelmsjöborg particularly well suited to destination weddings, with guests arriving from Denmark, the rest of Scandinavia and further afield.

Stay together at the castle
One of the most memorable parts of a destination wedding is having everyone together.
At Hjelmsjöborg, you and your guests can stay on the estate and nearby, depending on the size of your wedding.
Wake up together, have breakfast together and continue the celebration without anyone having to drive home.
For larger groups, we can also help arrange additional accommodation nearby.
Up to 40 guests can stay at the estate, with additional accommodation available nearby.
From intimate celebrations to grand weddings
Hjelmsjöborg works particularly well for weddings where the couple wants everyone to be part of the same experience.
Whether you are planning an intimate celebration with your closest family or a larger destination wedding with guests travelling from several countries, we can help create a weekend around your wedding.

We offer different wedding arrangements depending on the season, number of guests and how much of the estate you would like to use.

Hjelmsjöborg is a historic private estate in southern Sweden, surrounded by a large park and Lake Hjälmsjön.
For your wedding, you can have the estate exclusively for yourselves and your guests. Stay together, celebrate together and move between the different historic buildings and rooms throughout the weekend.
There is no hotel lobby, no other wedding taking place next door and no need to leave the estate after dinner.
Just your guests, the castle, the park, the lake and a weekend that belongs entirely to you.
A castle run by a family
Hjelmsjöborg is not a hotel or a large wedding venue company. It is our home and our family business.
Since 2017, we have been looking after Hjelmsjöborg as a family, taking care of the buildings, the park and everything that makes this place special.
We are four family members who work closely together to create weddings, celebrations and weekends that feel personal rather than packaged.
When you celebrate your wedding here, you are not simply booking a venue. You get to know the people who run the estate, and we are here throughout the planning process to help you create your weekend exactly the way you imagine it.
We love the fact that every wedding is different.
Some couples want an elegant dinner in the castle, others want a relaxed weekend with friends, dancing late into the night and breakfast together the next morning. Our role is to help you make Hjelmsjöborg your own for a little while.
